Beaumaris Beach - Polish sculptress carves out career as Aussie land sales star
There’s a time-honoured saying; “If you want something done ask a busy person to do it”.
This aptly sums up one of the Satterley Property Group’s longest-serving and respected estate manager Danuta Wnek who is in charge of sales for the prestigious Satterley estates of Princeton and Waldecks in Stirling, Beaumaris in Iluka and Erindale Grove in Gwelup.
Danuta is so successful at her job that at the end of the current financial year the total value of her estate and private sales will have topped $20-million.
In 1982, Danuta and husband David emigrated from Poland where she had been helping him establish his career as a music teacher.
David currently mentors music students at Morley Senior High School.
When she arrived in Australia Danuta changed her career path, studying art and sculpture and becoming an interior and outdoor designer.
Subsequently she decided to ‘have a go’ at land sales and has been one of the State’s most successful residential estate representatives.
Danuta has been selling property for more than 20 years, the last ten with Satterley.
One of her early challenges was to revive lagging sales at Peninsular Estate at Maylands and within two years of her appointment the estate was sold out.
In more recent times she was sales agent for the prestigious Marmion Cove boutique estate at Marmion where all 44 lots have been sold.
Danuta and David have recently moved into their dream home at Princeton Estate, one of the developments in her ‘stable’.
Son Robert and daughter Agnieszka are also pursuing careers in real estate while another daughter, Aneta is a graphic designer.
Danuta loves her job and has no intention of returning to her former career as an interior and outdoor designer.
“Selling land is my passion, particularly at the type of estate for which I am currently responsible,” she said.
“I feel very fulfilled when I manage to bring a vendor and a buyer together and everyone’s happy with the outcome.”
In her spare time Danuta indulges in her love of painting and sculpture in which she could have carved out a successful career.
She added: “It’s just a hobby, but one I love to pursue when I have the time.’
