About Harvest Lakes

Harvest Lakes in Atwell, is Western Australia's first large-scale 'GreenSmart Village', designed and executed to minimise environmental impact.

Harvest Lakes is Western Australia's first large-scale 'GreenSmart Estate', bringing together environmental and community development initiatives in a commercially viable format. We've extended the concept of sustainable living to a broader market.

Harvest Lakes employs Total Water Cycle Management, the majority of lots are orientated to maximise the benefits of passive solar house design and many mature trees have been retained in public open spaces together with interpretive boardwalks and cycleways.

Covering 115 hectares, our estate is expected to ultimately house a community of 3,500 people providing a range of sizes to suit each person's individual needs.

Making your home at Harvest Lakes gives your family a fresh, healthy new life, in attractive, natural surroundings. It's also a positive step for the world, setting a new standard for communities that take care of people and the planet.

As part of Harvest Lakes we've also developed Harvest Edge which is an intimate village offering a range of housing types for smaller households.

Pedestrian links provide a walkable network that will connect people to a planned future retail and commercial area.

Transportation

Harvest Lakes benefits from excellent transport infrastructure. The estate adjoins the Kwinana Freeway and is within easy commuting distance of the Cockburn Central station, part of the Southern Suburbs Railway.

Travel by car to Perth is estimated at 20 minutes along the freeway.

Harvest Lakes is also within easy reach of Fremantle and its wide range of entertainment and recreational facilities.

There are excellent community facilities within the City of Cockburn and these will be enhanced by the current development of the nearby Cockburn Central regional town centre.

Facilities

Within Harvest Lakes there is also a range of community facilities.

Fittingly, for a GreenSmart estate, Harvest Lakes incorporates the first primary school in the State that has been specifically developed to ecologically sustainable design initiatives. Harvest Lakes also boasts Australia's first community and environmental centre specifically built to sustainability principles.

Lot sizes and configurations within the estate have been designed to support the growth of a diverse community and include the provision for mixed use.

A Sense of Community
At Harvest Lakes every aspect of community life has been considered to help establish a vibrant and self-sustaining community, including safety, housing, community activities, the environment, arts and culture, education, sport and recreation.

Most people value a sense of community in the place they live. They want to know their neighbours and feel a part of their community. The success of a vibrant and self-sustaining community depends largely on the involvement of residents. Many opportunities are available for people living at Harvest Lakes to get involved and enrich their community life.
