Nigel Satterley, AM

Founder & Chief Executive

Although he wouldn’t make such a claim, Nigel Satterley ranks as one of the most influential and important figures in the history of WA residential land development.

His rise from a prominent home builder to become Australia’s biggest private developer is the result of an unquenchable appetite for hard work and an enthusiasm which has never diminished. Nigel’s ‘never say die’ attitude is unrivalled. He never dwells on setbacks, but thrives on success.

Satterley estates transformed the time-honoured, but second rate ‘carve and sell’ philosophy of bulldozer development and introduced the most presentable, acceptable and user-friendly modern estate community living WA has seen.

“Satterley estates are probably the top estates in Australia. They are very, very beautifully developed,” David Airey, the president of the Real Estate Institute of Australia, told a radio audience recently.
The Satterley Group has been awarded more than 70 prestigious industry awards and Nigel’s personal achievements in residential development, real estate, project management, environmental and urban renewal have won recognition, respect and admiration.

With wife Denise, Nigel is also well known for supporting charity, particularly medical research, women’s refuge, the churches, schools and sport.

In 2006, Nigel received membership of the Order of Australia for his contribution to land development, urban renewal programs and to charity, medical research and sport. He is a life member and former No 1 ticket holder of the West Coast Eagles Football Club.
